The Teatro Romano in Verona is one of the most suggestive places in the city. Built in the 1st century BC, it stands on a side of San Pietro hill, facing the left bank of the Adige, and it is one of the largest ancient theaters in northern Italy.

In the 10th century, fallen into disuse, it was interred to allow the construction of new buildings. From 1851, some excavations recovered its remains and today it is possible to admire the cavea, the stair, some loggias and remains of the scene.

So the theater could regain its purpose and it currently hosts some shows during the summer season. Although seriously mutilated, the Teatro Romano still displays its stateliness, also thanks to the beautiful natural setting where it is located.
