A few steps from our apartment in Soave, Castleview you can visit the ancient and imposing Scaligero Castle of Soave.
Its history dates back to around the tenth century AD, facing all the centuries up to the present day with delicate restorations; numerous battles were fought to conquer the Castle, notable thanks to its position and majesty.
The first feudal lords were the Sambonifacio who held the Castle until the beginning of the thirteenth century, making a leap forward thanks to its strategic position, it became important under the domination of the Scaligeri: between 1370 and 1375 it was restored and strengthened with the construction of the large city wall.

- Summer opening hours: from Tuesday to Sunday: 9:00-12:00, 15:00-18:00 closed on Mondays
- Winter opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 9.00am-12.00pm, 2.00pm-4.00pm closed on Mondays
- The Castle will be open on Easter, Easter Monday, 25 April, 1 May, 2 June, 15 August, 1 November, 8 December, 26 December, 6 January.
- The Castle is closed on December 25th and January 1st.
How to reach the Castle:
- a large car park is available and can be reached from via Mondello
- alternatively you can reach it on foot by going up via Castello Scaligero, starting from Piazza dell’Antenna.
