The Legend of the Dwarves

The villa’s curious nickname comes from the 17 dwarf statues on the surrounding wall. According to legend, a princess named Layana was kept isolated by her parents to hide her own dwarfism, surrounded only by dwarf servants. The story ends tragically when she realizes the truth after seeing a prince, leading the servants to "turn into stone" from grief.

Beyond the legend, the villa offers an artistic journey through the Iliad, Odyssey, and Orlando Furioso. The Palazzina showcases the father's heroic style, while the Foresteria (Guest House) features the son's charming scenes of 18th-century daily life.
